Position Overview:
Under closer supervision of the General Manager, the Director of Aquatics performs professional duties in ensuring the effective performance of swim instructors and lifeguards. One will be responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and appraising swim instructors and lifeguards. Ensures that certifications are current, that all instructors are fully competent and teaching the appropriate programs. Oversees the proper operations and facilities management of the Aquatics Department. Responsible for revenue growth in the area of swim lessons and all programming associated with the Aquatics Program.

A day in the life of a Dac Director of Aquatics:
- Contact new swim leads and schedule using GymSales CRM in accordance with company policies and standards.
- Work with the marketing department to ensure sufficient lead traffic to meet revenue goals.
- Orient new instructors to job duties and responsibilities. Ensure that all instructors are current on their training and certifications.
- Oversees all swim lessons: private, semi-private and groups.
- Assists the General Manager with the growth of the swim program.
- Keeps management well informed of pool maintenance needs including cleaning, chemical adjustments, and repairs.
- Inventories and recognizes when supplies or equipment needs to be ordered and communicates needs to General Manager.
- Works with the Sales departments to ensure the team is well versed on all Aquatics programming to ensure proper communication and promotion of programming to prospects and current members.
· 35- 50 hours per week.

- Develop and manage a range of aquatic programs suitable for all ages and abilities, including swim lessons and other aquatic programming options.
- Hire, train, and supervise lifeguards and other aquatic staff. Ensure staff compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Oversee the maintenance of the aquatic facilities, ensuring they are safe, clean, and in good repair. This includes managing water quality and temperature, equipment upkeep, and compliance with health regulations.
- Enforce safety standards and procedures. Ensure the facility complies with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding aquatic facilities.
- Manage the budget for the aquatic department, including payroll, equipment purchases, and maintenance costs.
- Promote aquatic programs to club members and the local community. Address customer concerns and feedback to improve service and satisfaction.
- Develop and conduct emergency response drills and training for staff. Maintain certifications in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid.
- Relevant certifications, such as Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Lifeguard Instructor, CPR, and First Aid.
- Proven experience in aquatic facility management, program development, and staff supervision.
- Strong Swimming and life-saving abilities.

- Dac Staff: training, facilitating, ensuring accountability, leading (daily)
- Candidates: recruiting and selecting talent (always)
